Dr. Lia McCoy, DVM (Veterinarian & Owner)

Dr. Lia McCoy was born and raised in Michigan where she spent her childhood riding and competing in the hunter/jumper and dressage rings. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Colorado State University in 2018, then transitioned to the desert to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree at the University of Arizona in 2023. She trained as an intern/mentee at Tennessee Equine Hospital post-graduation before joining Tryon Equine in North Carolina as an associate veterinarian. She spent some time at Elko Veterinary Clinic in Elko, NV traveling there once per month to provide equine services to their community. In early 2026, she decided to expand her knowledge and skillset by completing the Options for Animals Chiropractic Program. With the goal of serving the equine community right here in central Missouri, she opened Cedar Crest Equine Practice to do just that. While sports medicine and internal medicine are her passions, she truly enjoys serving every aspect of the horse.

In her spare time, you can find her spending time with her husband, Clancy, and their animals. She also loves to horseback ride, hike, travel, and shred the slopes in the winter!
